Being Thankful

It’s a joy to be alive, isn’t it? Whether this universe is simply a figment of an imagination, or the amazingly complex inside of pebble on a bigger planet, it’s pretty darn nice.

And investing — great stuff. It’s amazing how we quantify and qualify stocks, bonds, funds, ETFs and advisory accounts and make them into something that can outperform CDs and bank savings. (Wait: I’m talking about now, right? Now anything can pretty much outperform certificates of disappointment and bank savings rates.)

More importantly, we can make dreams come true and cause people to have happy and productive retirements. It’s important not to get greedy, of course, and avoid following the herd all of the time.

I’m thankful for having a wonderful family, great friends across the U.S. and the world, and a nice work family, too. I’m grateful for enjoying writing my weekly blog and monthly column, for having readers, and for being part of the investment and finance community. And I’m thankful for having the customers and friends who make much of what I do possible.

Once again: Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope your week is over the day you read this, and you have a blissful four-day weekend.
