Personnel Changes: CIGNA, ING, Penn Mutual, Prime, Lawson-Hawks

CIGNA Corp. has hired Maggie FitzPatrick to be chief communications officer.

FitzPatrick previously was an executive vice president at APCO Worldwide Inc., Washington, according to CIGNA, Philadelphia (NYSE:CI).

FitzPatrick has a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University and a master’s degree in public policy from The George Washington University.

In other personnel news:

- ING Insurance U.S., Windsor, Conn., has named Gary Baxter chief information officer.

Baxter previously was head of information technology in the retirement services unit at ING U.S. Retirement Services and ING Individual Retirement. All of the businesses are arms of ING Groep N.V., Amsterdam (NYSE:ING).

- The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company, Horsham, Pa., says Phil D’Ambrisi is now managing director, products and field support, at its Hornor, Townsend & Kent Inc. broker-dealer subsidiary.

D’Ambrisi has a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University.

Penn Mutual also has hired James Pierce to be managing partner of a new career agency in Wilton, Conn.

Pierce has a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

- Prime Health Services Inc., Brentwood, Tenn., a provider network company, has promoted Todd Hurt to vice president of provider contracting.

Hurt previously was the company’s director of provider contracting.

- Lawson-Hawks Insurance Associates Inc., Mountain View, Calif., has hired John Stege to be a vice president and broker in the employee benefits division.

Stege previously worked for a new start up community bank in San Francisco. Before that, he was director of sales and vice president of sales at Superior Administrators Inc., Santa Ana, Calif.

Stege has a bachelor’s degree from Santa Clara University.
