The decisions currently being made in Washington could make or break the financial services industry in the coming years. In an effort to help professionals better understand the impact of proposed legislation and the important trends affecting their practices, The American College is offering two high-impact webinars filled with the essential information professionals need to successfully manage change.

On Dec. 10, Larry Barton, Ph.D., President and CEO and Jack C. Hondros, CLU(R), ChFC(R), CASL(R), CFP(R), Chief Marketing Officer at The American College will host the Webinar 2009 Year in Perspective at 10:30 a.m. ET.

Hot button issues to be addressed during this insight-filled seminar include:

  • 2009: The Year in Review
  • 2010 Industry Trends Affecting Your Clients
  • Fiduciary Standards
  • Roth IRA Conversions

Many financial planners and insurance agents have expressed alarm about the potential impact of proposed new standards. To address these concerns, this Webinar will also include a candid overview of what must be done to protect consumers. In addition, Barton and Hondros will answer questions from the financial services community submitted through The College’s Web site.

On Friday, The American College will feature a second Webinar: Breaking News…Legislation from Washington on Financial Services. Participants will receive a timely update on the legislative proposals currently being discussed in our nation’s capital. Concerns about increased costs and liabilities resulting from a mandated fiduciary standard will be addressed as part of this in-depth presentation.

Legislative experts sharing their perspectives as part of this valuable Webinar include:

  • Jill Edwards, Associate Vice President, Federal Government Relations, National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA).
  • Chris Morton, Vice President, Legislative Affairs, Association for Advanced Life Underwriting (AALU).
