The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors reports that the NAIFA national board has decided to change the group’s relationship with its health insurance arm.
Members of the board of NAIFA, Falls Church, Va., voted unanimously to approve the full integration of AHIA-NAIFA Health and Employee Benefits into NAIFA.
The entity, once known as the Association of Health Insurance Advisors, had been operating as a NAIFA conference.
A majority of all NAIFA members have at least some involvement with health and employee benefits products, and integration should help NAIFA increase the power of its voice in health-related matters, NAIFA says.
In related news, NAIFA says its political action committee raised about $171,000 in contributions at the group’s recent annual convention in Orlando, Fla.
The 2010 convention is set to start Sept. 11 in Seattle.
