An insurer is making its new approach to selling and administering benefits for small and midsize employers available in New York state.

The program gives employers with fewer than 500 employees the ability to handle benefits enrollment and administration online, and to put bills for all benefits on a single statement.

Unum is using the program to sell employer-paid group disability and group life products together with voluntary benefits.

Unum launched the Simply Unum program in April 2008 and now offers it in 47 states.
