The National Association of Insurance Commissioners is showing 9 regulators from around the world how U.S. states oversee the insurance industry.

The NAIC, Kansas City, Mo., brought in the “regulator interns” through its International Internship Program.

The 2009 regulator interns come from countries such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Srpska, Taiwan and Thailand.

The interns will spend a week at an orientation program in Kansas City, then spend 5 weeks working in a host state.

The interns will come back together at the NAIC’s summer meeting in Washington, in mid-June.
