When the economy does improve, will employers reinstate the same retirement benefits? That’s a good question, according to a majority of workers.

A Harris Poll released Thursday shows only about 30 percent of employees are sure their company will bring back pensions and that the 50 percent match on the first 6 percent an employee contributes to a 401(k) plan will be reinstated.

So what will be coming back? Top answer: Thirty-six percent of respondents say they believe their salary increase that matched or exceeded inflation will make a second coming. The overall survey indicated about 70 percent of employees will be forever ruling out retirement benefits that match what they were getting before the crisis.
