The Senate Banking Committee will be meeting Thursday and Sept. 23 to discuss the economic crisis.
The committee will hold a hearing on “Recent Bank Failures and the Regulators’ Response” at 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
Witnesses scheduled to appear include the heads of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., the Office of Thrift Supervision and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.
A witness list for the Sept. 23 hearing, “Turmoil in U.S. Credit Markets: Recent Actions Regarding Investment Banks and Other Financial Institutions,” was not available at press time.
