A benefits technology company has built an electronic mail communications system into its benefits management software.

BeneTrac, San Diego, a unit of Paychex Inc., Rochester, N.Y., says the new Mail Room system can give human resources managers the ability to create e-mail mailing lists based on variables such as employee status, employee location, plan enrollment or other benefits criteria.

An HR manager could, for example, use the system to automate the process of sending e-mail introductions to new hires, without leaving the BeneTrac system, the company says.
