Esse Health is expanding into the Lexington, Ky., Medicare Advantage market.
Esse, a unit of American Multispecialty Group Inc., St. Louis, is developing a network of Medicare plans, called Essence plans, that are owned and managed by local physicians.
The Physicians Network, Lexington, will be running the Essence plan in Lexington, according to Esse.
Plan features will include free transportation for up to 10 non-urgent visits to the doctor each year, Esse says.
In other Medicare news, Humana Inc., Louisville, Ky., has agreed to offer its 4.6 million Medicare plan members access to a resource database developed by the National Council on Aging, Washington.
