The U.S. Department of Labor’s Employee Benefits Security Administration will be giving some employers more time to file Form 5500 and Form 5500 EZ employee plan annual reports.

EBSA is extending the filing deadline for plans in 7 California counties that are part of the California wildfire disaster area.

The extension applies to plans that cannot get necessary information from bankers, insurers or service vendors in the disaster area as well as to plans that are in the disaster area themselves, EBSA officials say.

Forms that were due between Oct. 21, 2007, and Jan. 31, 2008, will now be due Jan. 31, 2008.
