Close to 80% of American voters in a recent survey say they want to see long term care included in the healthcare proposals offered by the presidential candidates.
More than 80% also said that positions on LTC funding would be an important factor in deciding whom they’ll vote for in the 2008 election, according to a survey released at the recent National Long Term Care Symposium hosted by Genworth Financial Inc. in Washington.
The survey, conducted by Public Opinion Strategies and the Mellman Group, also found nearly 70% of Americans have not made any plans for their own, a spouse’s or another relative’s LTC needs. Yet over 50% said they have had a loved one who needed some form of long term care.
