CIGNA Adds Medicare Plans

A managed care company is expanding its menu for older consumers.

CIGNA HealthCare, Bloomfield, Conn., an arm of CIGNA Corp., Philadelphia, has developed the CIGNA Medicare Surround program for employers that want to offer Medicare supplement coverage.

Employers can enroll members for an immediate effective date or a later effective date, CIGNA says.

CIGNA also is adding a CIGNA Medicare Access medical-only plan; and a CIGNA Medicare Access Plus Rx plan that includes both medical insurance and prescription drug benefits.
