Utah Goes Electronic

The Utah Insurance Department is telling insurers to stop sending rate and form filings in on paper.

Insurers that have been sending in paper submissions should sign up to use the electronic filing systems developed by Sircon Corp., Okemos, Mich., or the System for Electronic Rate and Form Filing, Kansas City, Mo., Utah officials say in Bulletin 2007-3.

The electronic-only rules will take effect July 1.

Starting on that date, a paper filing “will be rejected and returned to the filer,” the Utah department warns. “A rejected filing is not considered filed.”
