The old Missouri Department of Insurance has become the Missouri Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions and Professional Registration.

Missouri officials renamed the department after giving it oversight over the state's divisions of Finance, Credit and Professional Registration.

The Missouri Department of Economic Development previously supervised the Finance, Credit and Professional Registration divisions.

Dale Finke, who was the director of the old Missouri Department of Insurance, is also the director of the expanded department.

The new department will start with 7 divisions: the Consumer Affairs Division; the Insurance Solvency and Company Regulation Division; the Insurance Market Regulation Division; the Resource Administration Division; the Division of Finance; the Division of Credit Unions; and the Division of Professional Registration.

The department's Web site is now at Document Link
