AXA To Acquire Winterthur For $10 Billion

AXA Group S.A. confirmed press reports today by announcing it has agreed to buy Winterthur Insurance from Credit Suisse Group, Zurich.

Under the agreement, AXA, Paris, will acquire Winterthur for close to $10 billion in cash. AXA also will refinance around $1.2 billion of Winterthur’s debt.
