The government operations division of Health Net Inc. has hired Donna Hoffmeier to be vice president of government relations-policy and strategy.
Health Net, Los Angeles, is a major participant in the TriCare military health care system.
Hoffmeier, who will be based in Arlington, Va., previously was vice president of government and public sector strategy at the specialty business division of UnitedHealth Group Inc., Minnetonka, Minn.
Hoffmeier also spent 10 years serving in the U.S. Navy as a public affairs officer, and she spent 5 years working as a staff member at the U.S. House Armed Services Committee, where she helped develop military health system bills.
Hoffmeier has a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from the University of South Florida.
- Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company, Omaha, Neb., has hired Dean Thompson to be vice president of group health sales.
Thompson previously was a division manager at Physicians Mutual Insurance Company, Omaha.
Thompson has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha, where he was a star basketball player.
- The Securian Financial Group Inc. unit of Minnesota Mutual Insurance Company, St. Paul, Minn., has hired Hal Harris to be national sales vice president of individual annuities.
