A longtime managed care company executive is giving up his position as a director.
L. Ben Lytle, a former chief executive officer of the company now known as WellPoint Inc., Indianapolis, is leaving the WellPoint board to focus on his duties as CEO of AXIA Health Management L.L.C., Tempe, Ariz., according to WellPoint.
Lytle began working for WellPoint in 1977 and retired as CEO in 1999. He has continued to serve on the board since he gave up the CEO title.
Larry Glasscock now is WellPoint’s chairman, president and CEO.
