Following up on the continuing saga of portfolio management software provider IDS (see Gluck Report in August and October), Fidelity Institutional sent a notice to its affiliated advisors as we went to press that CheckFree, which acquired IDS earlier this year, " is discontinuing support for the IDS portfolio management offering for advisors."

Fidelity, which agreed last year to add IDS to its supported PMS systems, said it is in "active discussions with leading portfolio management providers to continue to enhance available services and are committed to expanding the selection of portfolio management technologies to help make it easier to do business with Fidelity."
