Leslie Muma, the chief executive officer of Fiserv Inc., Brookfield, Wis., plans to retire in June 2006.[@@]

Fiserv, a financial services technology company, says Norm Balthasar, the chief operating officer, has taken himself off the list of possible successors because he wants to retire in 2008.

Muma, who began working for one of Fiserv’s predecessor companies 33 years ago, has been thinking about retiring for “some time” and wants to help the company carry out a smooth leadership change, Fiserv says.
