UnumProvident Corp., Chattanooga, Tenn., is encouraging brokers to call its underwriters.[@@]

The company is setting up a toll-free number for access to individual disability underwriters.

The underwriters can explain underwriting requirements and decisions and recommend alternative solutions for clients with underwriting problems, UnumProvident says.
