Benefit Partners Adds FICA Tax Match Service

NU Online News Service, Oct. 28, 2003, 4:23 p.m. EST – Benefit Partners, Omaha, Neb., is selling a new “FICA tax match” service to employers that buy its short term disability coverage.

The service will pay participating employers’ share of Social Security and Medicare taxes, which also are known as “FICA taxes,” on all group STD benefits.

The service also will handle the chore of printing and mailing W-2s to disabled employees’ homes, Benefit Partners says.

Benefit Partners is a unit of Jefferson Pilot Financial, Greensboro, N.C., which, in turn, is a unit of Jefferson-Pilot Corp., Greensboro.
