Phoenix Annuity Offers Optional Guaranteed Income Rider

NU Online News Service, Sept. 3, 2003, 4:46 p.m. EDT – The Phoenix Companies Inc., Hartford, has introduced the FreedomEdge deferred variable annuity.

Consumers can buy the annuity without paying front-end or back-end sales charges or surrender charges, Phoenix says.

Consumers can choose between making flexible or lump-sum premium payments, and the annuity offers a choice of two death benefit options and a menu of more than 50 investment options.

Purchasers also can buy an optional guaranteed minimum income benefit rider.

Phoenix is issuing the annuity through its PHL Variable Insurance Company and Phoenix Life Insurance Company subsidiaries.
