NU Online News Service, June 19, 2003, 4:07 p.m. EDT – Jackson National Life Insurance Company, Lansing, Mich., says it wants to reinvigorate its life insurance business.

The company has hired Thomas Hull to be its new vice president of life product management, and it also has added five wholesalers.

The company is starting a series of changes to its life products by replacing its Reward Xtra term life policy with the JNL Protector term life policy.

Customers who buy the new policy can choose guaranteed periods of level premiums of 10, 15, 20 or 30 years, along with riders for terminal illness benefits, accidental-death benefits and child insurance.

To appeal to agents who represent smokers, Jackson National is creating a preferred tobacco premium class for tobacco users who are otherwise highly insurable.

Jackson National is a unit of Prudential P.L.C., London.
