NU Online News Service, June 2, 2003, 4:13 p.m. EDT – Scott Hanson says he is regaining full ownership of SeniorsFirst L.L.C., Dallas, and hopes to find new suppliers of long-term care insurance.

Hanson founded the insurance agency, which sells long-term care insurance and Medicare supplement insurance, in 1998. He sold a 50% stake to UICI, North Richland Hills, Texas, in 2002, while UICI was trying to build a senior products division.

UICI announced plans last week to end its efforts to enter the senior products market.

Hanson will be getting the 50% SeniorsFirst stake back and focusing on selling products from insurers that are staying in the LTC insurance market, SeniorsFirst says.
