American United To Acquire Union Central Group Business

NU Online News Service, March 20, 2003, 4:11 p.m. EST – American United Life Insurance Company, Indianapolis, has agreed to acquire control of the group insurance operations of Union Central Life Insurance Company, Cincinnati.

The deal includes Union Central’s group life and group disability units.

The price of the deal and other terms were not disclosed.

Union Central says it will now focus on selling individual life insurance, individual disability insurance, and individual and group annuities.

American United says it will be treating group insurance as one of its three core product lines. The company’s other core lines will be retirement services and individual insurance products.
