NU Online News Service, Feb. 26, 5:33 p.m. – Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, Columbus, Ohio, says an unrelated company that does business as Nationwide Credit Corp. and Nationwide Information Services Group has been selling secured credit cards over the telephone.

The company charges a $219 application fee, and some consumers have complained that they have not been able to get either a credit card or a refund of the application fee, Nationwide says.

Nationwide is asking people who know about the secured card program to call John Williams, a member of its customer relations staff, at 800-882-2822, extension 94010.
