NU Online News Service, Sept. 18, 1:45 p.m. – Employers are having a difficult time tracking disability and Family & Medical Leave Act absences, according to MetLife Inc., New York.

When MetLife researchers conducted an informal survey this summer, they found that barriers included the difficulty of finding concrete evidence of the cost of lost time; convincing management of the value of absence tracking; and validating the return on investment for a new absence management approach.

Employers said they wanted more reports on costs, durations and reasons for absences.
