WESTPORT, Conn. (HedgeWorld.com)–Keith Danko is now the head of research and a managing director for Weston Capital Management LLC.

The former hedge fund manager and Goldman Sachs executive director will report to Errol Rudnick, chief investment officer, and take over duties that were previously Mr. Rudnick’s alone.

In this newly created position, Mr. Danko will coordinate and direct research efforts in the United States. He will direct Weston’s six-person research and analysis team and will oversee current investments and the development of relationships with hedge fund managers.

Mr. Danko has more than 20 years of trading and investment experience. He spent seven years as executive director for Goldman Sachs in London. He managed Minnisink Capital, a fixed-income arbitrage firm, and most recently, Mr. Danko was president of Witherspoon Investment Management and co-founder of Tachyon Systems, the investment software company that created the first real-time analytics for the Nasdaq market.

Since 1993, Weston Capital Management LLC has specialized in alternative asset management. It manages more than US$1 billion.
