NU Online News Service, Dec. 18, 1:58 p.m. – Northern Trust Retirement Consulting L.L.C., Chicago, has set up a marketing program to reduce the effects of layoffs, job turnover and retirement on its asset management operations.

The new Retirement Investment Link program is aimed at employees of companies that use Northern Trust Retirement to run 401(k) plans and other retirement plans.

Administrators of the asset retention program find out when members of the plans are about to leave their jobs, then encourage the departing members to roll assets into retirement accounts and mutual funds at Northern Trust Retirement.

Northern Trust Retirement is a unit of Northern Trust Corp., a large bank.
