HealthExtra Reports Smaller Second Quarter Net Loss

NU Online News Service, Aug. 8, 2:35 p.m. – HealthExtras Inc., Rockville, Md., the company that has hired Christopher Reeve to help it sell accidental disability insurance and other products through the Internet, is reporting a $3.8 million net loss for the second quarter on $26 million in revenue, compared with a net loss of $4.7 million on $8.1 million in revenue for the second quarter of 2000.

Adjusted net income, which excludes $4 million in non-cash charges for deferred compensation, changes in valuations of previously acquired companies, and issuance of warrants, increased to $150,419 for the quarter, up from a net loss of $4.7 million.
