Ameritas Teams With Ethos on Indexed Universal Life Product

LexisNexis, Hexure and DigitalOwl also have insurance technology news.

Ethos Technologies has worked with Ameritas to introduce an indexed universal life policy.

The new Ethos IUL policy comes with a tool for helping helping clients match premium and coverage targets, a digital application process, and a quick decision process.

Ethos is an Austin, Texas-based company that has focused on selling life insurance to families through the web. It’s now branching out to offer products through agents and brokers.

An Ameritas company will write the policies.

What it means: Cash may have stopped flooding into insurance technology companies, but companies are still developing insurtech products, services and tools.

In other insurtech news:

The tool can use credit records, motor vehicle records and public records to provide risk estimation scores for coverage applicants, without the applicants having to go through medical tests.

Reinsurance Group of America has agreed to use medical record summary technology from DigitalOwl in underwriting systems for life insurers and for its own life reinsurance operations.

Heartland National Life is using FireLight application submission technology from Hexure to sell its new multi-year guaranteed annuity, or MYGA.
