Wendy Boyd to Lead Life Distribution at Transamerica: Personnel Moves

Humana and Securian Financial also have news.

Transamerica has picked Wendy Boyd to be head of life distribution for the company’s individual solutions division.

Boyd previously ran the agency network at Lincoln Financial Group.

Earlier in her career, she was senior vice president of sales and operations at Crump Life Insurance Services. She has also worked as a sales executive at ADP.

Boyd has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama.

Other companies in the life, health and annuity sector also have personnel moves news.

In related news, Transamerica has picked Ryan Franken to lead large market retirement sales. Franken has been a division vice president at Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance.

He has also worked for John Hancock, and he had a stint at Transamerica from 2011 through 2018. He returned to the Baltimore-based arm of Aegon in December.

Humana

Humana has named Dr. Andrew Agwunobi to be president of its Home Solutions business.

The unit is helping Humana return to the long-term care market, by providing care to older people and people with disabilities in their homes.

Agwunobi was previously the CEO of the University of Connecticut’s UConn Health System.

Earlier in his career, he was the secretary of the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration.

He has a medical degree from the University of Jos in Nigeria and a master’s degree in business from Stanford University.

Securian

Securian Financial — a St. Paul, Minnesota-based life insurer — has promoted Meagan Phillips to chief risk officer.

Phillips had been the company’s assistant chief risk officer.

She began working for Securian as an associate actuary for annuity operations in 2005.

She has a bachelor’s degree from Gustavus Adolphus College.

She is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries and holds the chartered financial analyst professional designation.
