ThinkAdvisor dipped into Forbes' Real-Time Billionaires rankings, which tracks the daily ups and downs of the world's richest people, to find the 20 richest women in the U.S. The wealth-tracking platform provides ongoing updates of the net worth and ranking of each individual that researchers confirm is a billionaire. The value of each person's public holdings are updated every five minutes when stock markets are open. The net worth of those whose fortunes are significantly tied to private companies are updated once a day. (This list features information from 11 a.m. ET on Dec. 10.) If an individual owns a stake in a private company that accounts for 20% or more of his or her net worth, the company's value is adjusted according to an industry- or region-specific market index provided by FactSet Research Systems when available. See the gallery above for the 20 richest women in the U.S., according to Forbes.
