FPA Cancels Annual Conference Due to COVID Concerns

Some FPA chapters are still holding events this fall.

The Financial Planning Association has canceled its annual conference, which was to be held Sept. 22-24 in Columbus, Ohio, due to concerns over the increasing number of COVID-19 cases and the surge of the delta variant.

“FPA’s first priority is the health, safety, and well-being of our attendees, staff, partners, and all those who make a conference like this possible,” the group said in a statement on its website. “We recognize this news will be disappointing, but we believe it is the right decision.”

Those already registered will receive a full refund, FPA said, noting that the group “will work to make some of the planned sessions, including keynote presentations, available virtually on-demand — and free — for any member to access.”

FPA chapters still holding events this fall across the country are listed here. FPA said the list will be updated as new information becomes available.
