Janney Adds 8 Advisors From Ameriprise, Raymond James, Wells Fargo, Truist

So far this year, the firm has added 45 advisors who collectively manage more than $8.6 billion, it says.

Wealth manager Janney Montgomery Scott recruited another eight financial advisors to its Private Client Group, this time from Ameriprise, Raymond James, Wells Fargo and Truist, adding $1.4 billion in assets to the firm.

The news comes one month after Janney reported adding 15 advisors in the second quarter from Merrill Lynch, Wells Fargo and other rivals.

Year to date through Friday, Janney has added 45 advisors who collectively manage more than $8.6 billion in assets, it said.

Total assets under management for Janney’s Private Client Group are now $124.8 billion, the company said Thursday.

Five of the latest recruits come from Truist, and the firm said it opened three new branch offices to support their practices and clients.

The new advisory teams are:

The Kraft Haigler Group, joining in a new branch office located in Morehead City, North Carolina. The team is led by advisors Jim Kraft (senior vice president/investments) and Lupton Haigler (vice president/investments). The team was formerly associated with Truist and brings $330 million in assets.

Walters Wealth Management, joining in a new branch office in Roanoke, Virginia. The team is led by advisor Christopher Walters, executive vice president/wealth management. He joins from Truist and brings $172 million in assets.

Andrew Ciappa and Richard Link, both from Truist, joining a new office in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. Ciappa brings $226 million in assets, while Link manages $297 million in assets.

Philip Blumel, joining as executive vice president/wealth management in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He joins the firm from Raymond James and brings $227 million in assets.

Alexander F. Giles III, joining the firm in Columbia, South Carolina, from Wells Fargo and bringing $121 million in assets.

And Dedra Brust, joining Janney’s Albany, New York, office as an advisor. She is from Ameriprise and brings $25 million in assets.

Janney has about 1,140 employees performing investment advisory functions, according to its most recent Form ADV, filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday. Janney also has about 1,579 registered representatives of a broker-dealer and about 1,219 registered investment advisor representatives, it said.
