All their funds have four- or five-star Morningstar ratings and analyst ratings of silver or gold.

Rising Talent Nominees

Morningstar’s nominees for rising talent (those with seven years of experience or less) are John McClain, who co-managers the Diamond Hill High Yield Fund (DHHAX) and Diamond Hill Corporate Credit Fund (DSIAX); Sonali Pier, a co-manager of Pimco Diversified Income (PDIIX) Fund; and Justin White, manager of the T. McClain’s and White’s funds have placed in the top 10% of their peers over their tenures, which is six years for McLain and five years for White. Pier’s fund ranks in the top 20% over her four-year tenure. All three funds have four- or five-star Morningstar ratings and analyst ratings of bronze or higher for at least one share class.

Exemplary Asset Manager Stewards

The Morningstar award nominees also include three asset managers recognized for their exemplary stewardship of investors’ funds. Vanguard won this award in 2019, followed by T. Rowe Price in 2020. This year, Capital Group, Dodge & Cox and Primecap are the contenders — all with average manager tenures of 12 years or longer. Capital Group and Dodge & Cox were also nominated in 2019 and 2020.
