Policygenius Names Vice President of People: Personnel Moves

Symetra has a new benefits vice president. The Standard has a new compliance leader.

Policygenius has hired Megan Pittman to be the company’s vice president of people.

Policygenius is a New York-based web broker that recently opened a second headquarters in Durham, North Carolina.

Pittman previously was the senior global director of human resources business partners and high-volume recruiting at Stitch Fix.

Pittman has a bachelor’s degree from Sonoma State University and a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Saybrook University.

Earlier in her career, she was the lead human resources business partner for Blue Bottle Coffee. She also has been director of people at Memphis Meats, a biotech startup.

Policygenius recently raised $100 million in financing, and it also recently increased its employee count to 550. The company is working with Brighthouse Financial on an accelerated underwriting life insurance product.

Symetra Life Insurance Company, Bellevue, Washington, has promoted Lisa Marecki to senior vice president of its group life and disability and select benefits voluntary benefits lines.

Marecki previously was vice president of underwriting for life and disability and select benefits.

Marecki attended Mitchell College.

Earlier in her career, she worked for Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. Later, she was vice president and head of group life and disability product and underwriting at American International Group Inc.

Standard Insurance Company, Portland, Oregon, has promoted Camille Tourje to second vice president, compliance officer.

Tourje will lead the company’s corporate and product compliance operations, according to The Standard.

She previously was director of compliance.

Tourje has a bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College and a law degree from Case Western Reserve University.

Ushur, Santa Clara, California, has hired Kashif Mahbub to be senior vice president of marketing.

Ushur develops process automation software for life and health insurers, including companies like Irish Life, Unum, Aflac and Cigna.

Mahbub previously was vice president of product marketing at Automation Anywhere.

He has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology and a master’s degree in business from the University of Southern California.
