Bill Good Marketing Chairman and CEO Bill Good says he is passing the executive baton to COO Frantz Widmaier. Good, who founded the firm in 1977, will remain chairman.

The leadership transition has been happening gradually since 2017, when Widmaier became COO of the marketing firm  which focuses on financial advisors’ growth, retention and practice management and is based in Salt Lake City.

“I am pleased with our board’s decision,” said Good in a statement. “This appointment acknowledges that Frantz Widmaier can manage the company without me. So it’s time we took this important step.”

Good, who has been a longtime contributor to ThinkAdvisor and its sister publications, added that: “Frantz’s ability to understand our clients’ needs and translate them into working technology has been exemplary. I am excited about our future under his leadership.”

Widmaier has worked in sales, marketing and technology for over two decades. “I am honored to be an essential part of the future of Bill Good Marketing. … Bill created a vast body of content to help financial advisors establish, manage and grow their businesses,” the new CEO explained.

“He has built an iconic brand, and I am excited about helping to nurture its growth well into the future,” Widmaier added.“Many of the industry’s most successful financial advisors make it to the top using the promotional, retention and operational strategies Bill created.”

“Only about 30% of small businesses survive the transition from first- to second-generation ownership. We are well underway to join the 30%, not the 70% who fade from the business landscape,” he added.
