BNY Mellon Taps Another State Street Exec
Laura Steinbach's hiring comes some nine months after her colleague Jane Mancini left State Street to join the bank.
BNY Mellon has hired Laura Steinbach to lead sales to investment managers in the Americas for its asset servicing business. She joins from State Street, where she was managing director of global client solutions.

In her new role, Steinbach will be in charge of sales and business development efforts in the Americas for investment management firms, many of which are asset managers with advisory-focused businesses. She reports to Jane Mancini, global co-head of asset servicing sales.
“Laura’s robust sales and business development experience will be invaluable as we continue to advance our strategic dialogue with our clients and work to drive client-centric and global digital solutions,” according to Mancini, who moved to BNY Mellon in November 2019 from State Street.
Prior to State Street (where she worked from March 2015 to August 2020), Steinbach was with JPMorgan (July 2008 to March 2015), where she was responsible for the firm’s relationships with international banks and broker-dealers.
“I am excited to join BNY Mellon, and look forward to partnering with my new colleagues in support of our clients’ priorities and business needs,” she said in a statement.
In July, BNY Mellon Pershing brought on Emily Schlosser, the former head of change for Goldman Sachs’ Global Markets Division, as its chief operating officer. The new hire replaced Jim Crowley, who was tapped to be Pershing’s CEO a year ago and had been COO since mid-2017.
The news of Schlosser’s hiring came less than two months after Mark Tibergien retired from his role as head of Pershing’s RIA custody business. This role was filled by Benjamin Harrison, then head of business development and relationship management for the advisory segment.
