Michael Fosbury to Lead MIB

Michael C.S. Fosbury took over as chairman of MIB Group Inc. Friday.

MIB is a Braintree, Massachusetts-based consortium that helps life insurers share some of the information used in underwriting for life insurance and other life and health products. It supplies much of the data used in the new automated and accelerated life insurance underwriting programs.

Fosbury is the chief executive officer of Columbian Mutual Life Insurance Company.

Fosbury succeeds James Hohmann, who is the CEO of Members Mutual Holding Company, which is the parent of Fidelity Life Association.

Fosbury has served on the MIB board since 2018.

He also has served as chairman of the Life Insurers Council, as a member of the Life Insurance Council of New York board, and as a member of the ACLI Forum 500 board.

Bruce Baude, chief operations and technology officer at CNO Financial Group Inc., is now MIB’s vice chair. Baude has been the chief executive officer of the Long Term Care Group, a major long-term care insurance administrator.

Baude serves on both the national board of the Alzheimer’s Association.

MIB has also added Brian Winikoff, its new CEO, to its board.
