Sammons Names a Government Affairs Director: Personnel Matters

Sammons Financial has promoted two members of its legal team.

The West Des Moines, Iowa-based company has named Kevin Mechtley vice president – legal and director of government affairs.

The company has named Amy Teas vice president, associate general counsel – litigation and shared services.

Mechtley previously was associate vice president – legal and director of government affairs.

He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas and a law degree from Washburn University.

Teas previously was associate vice president and associate general counsel.

She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City and a law degree from Creighton University.

In other personnel matters news, Eric Dinallo has returned to Debevoise & Plimpton LLP to serve as chair of the firm’s insurance regulatory practice. He will also join the New York-based firm’s financial institutions and white-collar and regulatory defense groups.

Dinallo previously was general counsel at Guardian Life Insurance Company of America.

Before that, from 2010 through 2017, Dinallo was a partner in the Debevoise financial institutions group.

Before that, Dinallo was the New York state insurance superintendent.

Dinallo has bachelor’s degree from Vassar, a master’s degree in public policy from Duke University, and a law degree from New York University.
