Susan Thomas to Lead Life Insurers Council

Susan Thomas is taking over from Mark Singleton as the chair of the LOMA Life Insurers Council (LIC) board for 2020.

Thomas is the chief executive officer of Texas Service Life Insurance Company of Austin, Texas. She first joined the LIC board in 2017.

Byron Allen will be the LIC vice chair.

Francois Duguay will be the secretary.

LIC is an arm of LOMA. LOMA is an Atlanta-based arm of LL Global Inc. LL Global is the umbrella organization for LIMRA as well as LOMA.

The LIC provides networking and educational opportunities for senior managers at small and midsize life insurers.

The LIC recently held its annual meeting and conference in Tucson, Arizona. The theme of the event was digital transformation.

The lead sponsors were insurance company support services providers: Apptical, an underwriting automation company; Parkway Advisors, a company that helps insurers with their investments; and Management Research Services, an application processing technology vendor.
