FPA Launches Latino Group for CFPs
The online program will host webinars on topics like mentorship and cultural awareness.
The Financial Planning Association has launched the FPA Latino Knowledge Circle to give Latino certified financial planners more opportunities to network, share ideas, engage in professional development and promote the profession among the Latino community.
“Through FPA’s vision to elevate the profession that transforms lives through the power of financial planning, we are enthusiastic about fostering like-minded communities, like our Latino Knowledge Circle,” according to FPA Executive Director and CEO Lauren M. Schadle.
The program — which can be accessed online — has more than 40 FPA members today and will host several webinars on mentorship, emotional intelligence, cultural awareness and other topics over the next year or so.
“The FPA Latino Knowledge Circle will be the place where Latinos can find each other, their voice in the profession, and help build a community to support one another,” said FPA member Louis Barajas, CFP, in a statement. “I’m thrilled to be part of a community that attends to the needs of Latinos in the financial planning profession.”
The FPA has 11 other Knowledge Circles that operate as online community platforms. The group says more than 4,700 members participate in these platforms, which include PridePlanners and Women and Finance.
