U.S. retirement services providers are hoping they’ll get some satisfaction from a new relationship with the Rolling Stones.

The Alliance for Lifetime Income (ALI), a Washington-based group that represents annuity issuers and other organizations with an interest in retirement income planning, has announced that it will be the sole sponsor of the 2019 Rolling Stones’ “No Filter” tour.

The 16-city U.S. tour will start in Miami Gardens, Florida, in April and end in Chicago in June.

Jackson National Life Insurance Company, one of the companies that helped start the ALI, started the process of connecting U.S. income planning to the Rolling Stones last spring, by sponsoring a major Rolling Stones museum exhibit in Nashville, Tennessee.

Jackson is a unit of Prudential PLC of the United Kingdom.

Prudential PLC — a company that has no connection with Prudential Financial Inc. of Newark, New Jersey  — sponsored a major Rolling Stones tour in Asia in 2014. That tour included Abu Dhabi, Tokyo, Shanghai and Singapore,

“The Rolling Stones are age-defying icons that continue to operate at the cutting edge of entertainment and business,” the ALI said in announcement of the sponsorship agreement. “Similarly, the Alliance is at the forefront of financial security education, creating awareness and helping educate Americans about the need for protected lifetime income.”

Songs

The Rolling Stones have written songs with implications for management of longevity risk.

“Sympathy for the Devil,” for example, was written by Mick Jagger, the group’s lead singer, and Keith Richards, the group’s lead guitarist.

That song features a “man of wealth and taste” who has been around since “Jesus Christ had his moment of doubt and pain.”

The Rolling Stones have also sung “I’ve Been Loving You Too Long,” featuring the lyrics

My love is growing stronger as our affair grows old;

I’ve been loving you a little too long.

I don’t want to stop now.
