Simplicity Group Acquires Davis Life

Simplicity Group Holdings has acquired Davis Life & Annuity, an insurance distributor, Simplicity announced Wednesday.

Simplicity is a Hartford, Connecticut-based life and annuity distribution company that was previously known as Futurity First.

The company has used financial backing from Aquiline Capital Partners, a private equity firm, to acquire a total of 11 life and annuity distributors since 2008, including Dressander & Associates Inc., InsurMark and Vick & Associates Financial Marketing.

Davis Life & Annuity is a West Des Moines, Iowa-based wholesale life and annuity brokerage firm.

Ronald Davis founded the company in 1980. The other co-owners have been Trent Davis and Jon Davis.

Trent Davis and Bob Pedigo, the head of Davis Life’s life underwriting team, have written for Life Insurance Selling and other industry publications over the years
