FSI Taps Capitol Hill Veteran as Head of Legislative Affairs

Brady King is the former director of Congressional and Political Affairs for the American Institute of CPAs.

The Financial Services Institute has hired Capitol Hill veteran Brady King as vice president of Legislative & Political Affairs. King most recently served as director of Congressional and Political Affairs for the American Institute of CPAs.

Before joining AICPA, King served as director of congressional affairs at the Overseas Private Investment Corp. (OPIC) under the Obama administration, the U.S. government’s development finance institution.

He also has nearly two decades of legislative experience, including as chief of staff to former Sen. Roland Burris, D-Ill., and national security advisor to Sens. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., and Mark Dayton, D-Minn.

“We are excited to welcome Brady to our team,” said FSI President and CEO Dale Brown, in a statement shared with ThinkAdvisor. “With his vast experience in Washington, we are confident Brady will strengthen our already-strong advocacy team, and advance our critical mission on behalf of our members and Main Street investors.”

King will report to David Bellaire, FSI’s general counsel and head of advocacy.

While working toward his Ph.D. in U.S. political history at Temple University, King served as an adjunct professor of history at Penn State University, Valley Forge Military College and Temple.

He earned his master’s degree in history at Baylor University and his bachelor’s degree in history at Texas A&M University.
