Analysts at Morgan Stanley and Oliver Wyman predict that spending on quants and technologists will rise to 25% of front-office compensation in the future, up from 5% today.
In the back office, they expect spending on quants and techies to rise to 60% of the total wage bill, up from around 35% today.
Where does that leave someone interested in a career in finance who is not a quant or a technologist? In fact, a number of career opportunities are still available to those have little or no technical background.
