Attendees will get a chance to focus on a profitable product in a relatively calm market that insurers still want to be in.

Many first-day sessions focused on sales strategies and compliance with the laws and regulations that govern Medicare product sales efforts.

One session covered short-term care insurance (STCI), and another gave attendees a general look at senior-risk planning.

Gen Re, which has pulled away from its former focus on the U.S. disability insurance market in recent years and put more focus on Medigap and critical illness insurance products, is starting conversations at its exhibition area booth with a giant cardboard iPhone frame.

CSGactuarial is offering a phone charging station.

Attendees are posting about the event on social media services using the hashtag #MedSupp16.
