Alson R. Martin has come out with the latest version of his guide to Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) compliance: 2016 Healthcare Reform Facts.

Martin has converted the thousands of pages of federal statutes, regulations and “sub-regulatory guidance from the tri agencies” — the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the U.S. Treasury Department and the U.S. Labor Department — into a 473-page paperback book, with an index.

The index refers to everything from the PPACA indoor tanning service bed tax, to how PPACA rules apply in U.S. territories, to how PPACA relates to excepted benefits.

The new version discusses matters such as Internal Revenue Service (IRS) guidance on the relationship between student health insurance and the PPACA employer coverage mandate; recent guidance on PPACA health insurance exchange operations; the definition of “marriage”; and employer mandate transition rules.

Martin, the author, is a partner at Lathrop & Gage LLP in Overland Park, Kan.
